Standard vs. Deluxe

The $20 difference buys the earlier access window and Deluxe content. It does not turn the purchase into a physical Collector's Edition and does not include the physical poster, figure, or lenticular art.
Early access and the pre-order skin
The Inmate Michael skin belongs to the Deluxe package. The Phantom Michael skin is a separate reward for placing a digital pre-order. A Digital Deluxe pre-order receives both; buying Deluxe after the pre-order window receives the Deluxe content but not the retired Phantom offer unless the publisher changes its policy.
Can Standard owners upgrade later?
Yes. The official FAQ says a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade will be available at launch with the two Civilian characters, the Inmate skin, and the other Deluxe surprises. The upgrade price has not been stated in the announcement, so do not assume it will equal the original $20 edition gap.
