Michael's match objective

Michael's broad goal is to eliminate every living resident in Haddonfield, not only the four player-controlled Civilians. Each match also gives him Special Targets that award greater rewards if killed before time expires. That creates a decision between disrupting active players and pursuing timed NPC targets.

The official material does not publish the scoring formula or timer lengths. A sensible launch approach is to read the Special Target list immediately, then decide whether nearby Civilians are protecting those residents or exposing another route into the neighborhood.

Killer Sense and Stalk

Killer Sense moves into a first-person view and increases Michael's awareness of nearby prey. Focusing on a target builds levels of Stalk, helping identify and track that target and opening additional execution options.

Preview wording confirms the relationship between the systems but not their exact ranges, level thresholds, or whether progress decays. Use the released HUD and audio cues before turning any preview observation into a numerical build guide.

Shape Jump, Shape Dash, and line of sight

Shape Jump is Michael's signature mobility state. It increases his base movement speed and allows hidden traversal. Shape Dash is an aggressive lunge available from that movement toolkit, designed to turn an unseen reposition into a close-range attack.

The limitation is important: Michael can enter and exit Shape Jump only while covered by darkness or outside a resident's line of sight. The ability is therefore about breaking observation, not pressing a universal teleport button in the middle of a brightly lit chase.

Using darkness and power control

  • Shut off local lights to remove safe sightlines.
  • Cut power to reshape a larger area before using Shape Jump.
  • Use temporary Blackouts to force movement and create uncertainty.
  • Approach through cover so Civilians cannot watch the exact entry or exit point.

These are confirmed tools, not a solved priority order. Cooldowns, repair interactions, map-specific power layouts, and the opportunity cost of leaving a target all need live testing.

Launch-day build tests

  • Measure Killer Sense range and how quickly each Stalk level builds.
  • Test whether multiple players can interrupt or reset a focused target.
  • Record Shape Jump entry, exit, and Dash recovery times.
  • Compare power-control options across the confirmed maps.
  • Check how Special Target rewards compare with pursuing active Civilians.
